In Nuwakot, Nepal, six days after the devastating floods that hit the areas bordering Tibet, the land still bears the scars of the catastrophe. Meanwhile, the death toll and missing number continues to rise. In Nepal, the death toll has risen to at least 903, while 4,247 people remain missing. Among them are 592 foreign nationals and hundreds of workers engaged in hydroelectric projects along the Trishuli River. The situation remains dire in Tibet as well. According to Chinese state media, at least 16 people have died and 546 are missing. Authorities have also lost contact with 261 foreign nationals from 23 countries. Chinese President Xi Jinping has assured that Beijing is making "every effort" to locate those still missing. The overall death toll from the floods between Nepal and Tibet thus rises to at least 919, while 4,793 people remain missing six days after the disaster. #flood #Nepal #Tibet
