Cessna Hits Police Helicopter in Bizarre Airport Crash

On August 19, 2026, a Cessna 150 was attempting to land at Carlisle Airport in Pennsylvania when something went terribly wrong. A Pennsylvania State Police Bell 407 helicopter was conducting a training exercise near the runway and hovering just above the ground. As the Cessna approached to land, it suddenly deviated from what appeared to be a normal flight path, turned toward the helicopter, and collided with it. The impact sent both aircraft crashing to the ground. The two Pennsylvania State Police troopers aboard the helicopter survived, but the pilot of the Cessna was killed.
