I Bought a $10,000 Lemon

I picked up this John Deere HX20 20-foot batwing mower for about half of what similar ones were selling for. I thought I got a pretty good deal. Then we started looking closer. Wrong blades, bent blade holders, a twisted driveline, bad gearbox bearings, a bent output shaft, missing parts, cracks, and plenty of evidence that this mower had lived a hard life. In this video, we tear into it, rebuild what we can, replace what we can’t, straighten a whole lot of bent steel, and eventually find out if this $10,000 “deal” will actually mow.
