KOMPAS.TV - Another case of MBG poisoning has occurred. This time, it occurred in Sidoarjo, East Java. At least 516 students and schoolchildren experienced symptoms of poisoning. Most of the poisoning victims were students at the Manbaul Hikam Islamic Boarding School in Sidoarjo. The students experienced symptoms of poisoning on Tuesday afternoon. Students experiencing symptoms were treated at Sidoarjo Regional General Hospital and other referral hospitals. As of Wednesday afternoon, 88 MBG poisoning victims remained hospitalized, while 427 others had been discharged. The Health Department has taken samples of food suspected of causing the poisoning and sent them to the Surabaya Health Laboratory for testing. The students and schoolchildren in Sidoarjo are suspected of having suffered poisoning after consuming MBG from the Kali Tengah Food and Beverage Service (SPPG) in Tanggul Angin, Sidoarjo. This SPPG distributes 2,831 servings of MBG daily, of which 1,000 are distributed to the Manbaul Hikam Islamic Boarding School in Sidoarjo. Sidoarjo Regent, Subandi, will inspect the Kali Tengah Food Service Provider (SPPG). If any violations are found, the SPPG will be closed. The Sidoarjo Regency Government, along with the East Java National Narcotics Agency (BGN) and the police, conducted a surprise inspection of the Kalitengah Food Service Provider (SPPG) in Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo, which serves the MBG menu suspected of causing the poisoning. The inspection revealed that the SPPG already holds a Certificate of Hygiene and Sanitation (SLHS) permit. Teguh Bayu, Deputy Regional Coordinator of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for East Java, confirmed that the Kalitengah Food Service Provider (SPPG) will be suspended.
