Defense attorney Kevin Reddington cross-examined Lindsay Clancy's ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, today, and he focused early on Lindsay's devotion to motherhood. He later asked about the prescription drugs Lindsay took while dealing with the postpartum depress she now blames for driving her to kill her three young children in their home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, on Jan. 24, 2023. "And when you say huge problem, was there one point when she was on medication from Tufts that, in fact, she had gone 48 hours, I think, without sleep?" "Yeah." "And that was disturbing to her?" "Yeah, and it was just hard to function." "And how about you? Was it disturbing to you?" "I just wanted her to get sleep and feel better." 40:04 "So Lindsay wasn't out doctor hunting. She was referred by the nurse practitioner that was referred to you guys by your mom..." "Yeah, she just switched doctors in the same practice." "Alright. Now she sees Dr. Gelata, right?" "Right." "Did Dr. Gelata, to your knowledge, put her on medication?" "Yeah." "And what was the medication, if you know?" "Mainly Seroquel and benzodiazepines, Ativan. " "Benzodiazepines. They're addictive, right?" "Apparently." 43:53 "She seemed to get worse. The seroquel was increased to 400 milligrams." "The idea behind that was it would help with sleep, but she didn't get better. "I don't recall that, but we did have them in the house." "Now, to your knowledge, was Lindsay a person that liked to smoke the weed and use the CBDs oils and all that stuff, or did she not imbibe them?" I wanted to see what her evaluation was, and so I gave her a call, and we we spoke, and she said, you know, she's she's clearly depressed." 52:25 "So when Lindsay left, it was because she wanted to leave one day early because of Cora's birthday. Is that right?" "I didn't think it was. I don't think it was one day early. I think she had a five-day stay, which at the time was my understanding was that was pretty Standard, and yeah, she did want to attend Cora's birthday." 58:10 "So for two days, two nights, a month, and a week or so before she killed the children, she was home with the kids for two days, is that right?"
