Support for Ottawa’s US trade retaliation depends on financial situation: Ipsos

New Ipsos polling for Global News suggests Canadians broadly support Ottawa’s tough stance against the U.S., but that support becomes more conditional when personal finances are at stake. Ipsos Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Gregory Jack says younger and lower-income Canadians are supportive of the government’s position but have less ability to absorb an economic hit. The polling also found six in 10 Canadians are confident Canadian politicians can handle the trade dispute.
