Every Cross-Examination of the State's Witnesses | Charlie Kirk Assassination Case

The State called them. The defense got them back. Every cross-examination in the Charlie Kirk assassination hearing, in the order it happened. Charlie Kirk was 31 years old and running a campus event when he was killed at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. Tyler James Robinson stands charged in his death, the State of Utah is seeking the death penalty, and this hearing is where one judge decides a single narrow question: is there enough here to send a capital case to trial at all. This video collects every cross-examination the defense conducted of a witness the State put on the stand, whole, in the order the hearing took them. Nothing inside an examination is trimmed. You get the full run of questions and the full run of answers, including the long stretches where the answer is some version of I don't know. Watch for the shape that repeats. Kathryn Nester and Michael Burt are not hunting a confession here. They are building an inventory of what the investigation did not do, did not collect, and did not write down. A holster on the grass nobody took custody of. A body camera that stopped recording on the roof. A report that never mentions the direction the shot came from. A rifle nobody photographed coming out of the bush on video. Each answer is small. Watch what they add up to by the end. One State witness is missing from this video for an honest reason. Agent Brian Davis finished his direct examination and the defense waived cross entirely, on the record, in four words. No cross-examination exists for him, so none appears here. The defense also did something unusual at this stage. Rather than hold everything back for trial, it called three witnesses of its own. Those examinations are their own video. Robinson declined to testify, which is his constitutional right and carries no inference of any kind. One thing to understand before you press play. A preliminary hearing is not a trial. There is no jury in that room and no verdict comes out of this phase. The standard is probable cause, a far lower bar than beyond a reasonable doubt, and the State does not have to prove its case here. That is what makes these crosses worth your time. When the burden is this low and the defense still spends an hour and a half pulling at the seams, what it pulls at tells you where it thinks the case is thinnest. Both sides have rested. Written briefs come next, then oral argument on September 1. --- WATCH WITH JUSTICE 0:00:00 - Officer Chris Bagley, first officer on the roof, crossed by Kathryn Nester. She opens on six officers covering an event of thousands, then walks him to the holster he left on the grass. 0:14:16 - Bagley resumes after the lunch recess. Nester puts his own report on screen and asks him to find the parts that are not in it. 0:29:32 - Agent David Hull, the lead case agent, crossed by Nester. The longest cross of the hearing. What the investigation knew, and when, right up to the moment Robinson walked into a sheriff's office on his own. 1:02:02 - Sgt. Jennifer Faumuina, who coordinated the forensics, crossed by Michael Burt. He works through her own reports one at a time. Listen to how often the answer is nothing of value. --- COMPLETE CASE COVERAGE justiceisaprocess.com SUBSCRIBE for daily trial coverage and hit the notification bell so you never miss testimony.
