President Abelardo De La Espriella swore in the nine new magistrates of the National Electoral Council (CNE) in Barranquilla. These magistrates were recently elected by the Congress of the Republic. During the ceremony, the president spoke about the importance of guaranteeing the legitimacy of the election results and criticized the previous administration, stating that there had been pressure and maneuvers during the electoral process designed to create uncertainty. De La Espriella also asked the National Electoral Council to present any reforms it deems necessary and to defend the rights of citizens and political parties.
