Prosecutors allege Robinson fatally shot conservative activist Charlie Kirk at an event at Utah Valley University in September 2025 and knowingly created a grave risk to others in the crowd. The prosecution has cited video evidence, DNA evidence and alleged messages as part of its case. The defence has challenged the aggravated-murder enhancement, arguing that the evidence does not establish that Robinson knowingly endangered anyone other than Kirk. Defence lawyers have also disputed aspects of the DNA evidence and the prosecution's claims about motive.
