New Winneba Violence: Afenyo-Markin Demands Swift Police Action

Three people were killed and 15 others injured after persons from Gomoa Oguakrom, Gomoa Yenkuadze and Gomoa Pomadze allegedly stormed New Winneba and attacked residents. Speaking on Eyewitness News on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Afenyo-Markin questioned how a group of youths allegedly armed with guns, machetes and clubs could enter the community in broad daylight without being intercepted by security personnel. He urged the Central Regional Police Command and the national Police Headquarters to work together to identify those who organised or participated in the attack and investigate the source of the weapons allegedly used.
