Andrés Bilbao is a Colombian entrepreneur and investor, co-founder of Rappi, the delivery app that became Colombia's first unicorn and one of the largest technology companies in Latin America. A mechanical engineer by training with an MBA, he built and led Rappi's supermarket business during the company's early years. Today, he invests through B2 Founders, with over one hundred investments in startups across the region, and is co-founder and CEO of 30X, an in-person business school positioned as an alternative to the traditional MBA. His journey dismantles the notion of the entrepreneur as born with a special talent. Before Rappi, he worked as a maintenance engineer at a paper mill, was laid off, and spent years feeling incapable of building something of his own. Bilbao maintains that entrepreneurship is a skill that can be developed, that the environment determines what a person believes is possible, and that the difference between those who succeed and those who don't rarely lies in talent. Through 30X and Makers, its free program for university students, it has trained more than 800 young people in the region.
