Coinciding with Ceuta Day, rallies are planned in various Spanish cities in support of the autonomous city. The demonstration, promoted by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, chaired by the People's Party (PP), has the backing of Ceuta's president, Juan José Vivas, who is calling for ideologies and political affiliations to be set aside. Alberto Núñez Feijóo will attend the rally in Madrid, and several Socialist mayors, such as those of Mérida and León, have also announced their attendance. The Socialist Party (PSOE) rejects the mobilizations, considering them to have a distinctly partisan character, and calls for an end to the manipulation of institutions. Vox will also participate, although with the stated objective of targeting the government, while Podemos is organizing another rally to denounce what it considers racist rhetoric.
