On X, Iran's chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, accused the United States of being the "Great Satan," recalling the massacres of girls at the Minab school and the Lamerd Sports Hall (both in the south), and now the Kuhestak wedding. In response, Iranian forces said on Wednesday they had launched strikes against US military targets in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain, after already claiming attacks against Jordan and Iraqi Kurdistan, as seen in images broadcast by Iranian state TV. In these AFP images, smoke can be seen in the skies over northern Bahrain following Iranian drone and missile attacks, as local authorities attempt to intercept incoming projectiles. The Iranian military said it had launched drone strikes against US forces stationed at an air base in Bahrain, a key ally of Washington in the Gulf. Iran's Central Military Command warned that any new US attacks "will be met with heavier, broader, and more destructive responses."
