The Colombian Armed Forces, commanded by President Abelardo de la Esperilla, continue their offensive against criminal groups. This time, through Operation Azarías, they intercepted narco-terrorist groups belonging to the FARC dissidents, specifically those led by alias Iván Mordisco and alias Calarcá. According to preliminary information shared by the president, the attack against Mordisco's dissidents in the village of Lagos del Dorado, in the municipality of Miraflores, Guaviare, targeting the "Carolina Ramírez Front," resulted in 18 deaths, three captures, and the rescue of two minors. Similarly, the National Police, in a joint operation with the Attorney General's Office and the DEA, captured Emilio José Cordero Sierra, alias Fantasma, a member of the dissident group led by alias Calarcá, who is wanted by a court in New York. Following these decisive attacks, President Abelardo de la Espriella announced that the offensives will continue until the leaders of these terrorist organizations are apprehended.
