On August 31st, Junya Ogawa, leader of the Centrist Reform Alliance, spoke to reporters after a meeting of the three party leaders. Ogawa explained that the three-party talks, which aimed for a balanced integration in both houses of parliament, "cannot be avoided as having stalled." While acknowledging that there were a considerable number of opinions within the party that the current structure of the Centrist Reform Alliance should be continued, he stated that, considering the status quo and the prospects for maintaining the status quo, "there is no possibility of maintaining the status quo. We will transition to a new form." Regarding the specifics of the new form, he indicated that he would make it clear as soon as possible after conducting practical discussions and adjustments both within and outside the party. Furthermore, he emphasized that regardless of the future form, the goal is to form a unified parliamentary group in the Diet and to continue walking the path of centrist reform together. He stated, "The climbing route and the composition of the climbing team may change, but the peak we aim for remains the same," demonstrating his determination to continue working to expand the centrist reform forces.
