Why maps on Canadian websites are inadvertently adopting 'Lake America'

The Lake America name has popped up on maps available on the websites of Hydro One, Ontario transit service provider Metrolinx and the Liquor Control Board of Ontario. Bri Watson, an assistant professor in Western University’s faculty of information and media studies, said it's a result of companies relying on a U.S. database because it's comprehensive and cheap.
