Judge Blocks ‘TikTok Social Worker’ From Lindsay Clancy Trial

A former McLean Hospital social worker took the stand as the judge considered whether she would be allowed to testify before the jury in the Lindsay Clancy trial. Emily Thorndyke testified that staffing levels and available programs during Clancy’s stay were consistent with what Patrick Clancy had described. However, the judge ultimately barred Thorndyke from testifying before the jury, ruling her testimony had limited value because she had not worked at McLean since 2021. Instead, the defense was allowed to use hospital records addressing staffing and programming.
