A renovation carried out in one of the apartments of the Altos de Santana complex, designed by architect Rogelio Salmona in Bogotá, has come under scrutiny by the District Institute of Cultural Heritage (IDPC). The building was declared a Cultural Heritage Site in 2010 and has a Level 2 intervention designation, which requires the preservation of fundamental elements of its architecture, including the staircases, even those located within the apartments. According to the IDPC, the alteration of one of the original staircases was carried out without the required authorization. Therefore, the Institute has initiated a review process and is considering sanctions against those responsible.
