Tyler Robinson to stand trial in Charlie Kirk's death | FOX 10 Phoenix
A Utah judge has ruled that Tyler Robinson will stand trial for the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Robinson is facing seven charges, with the most serious charge being aggravated murder, which carries the death penalty. Prosecuting attorneys argue that additional circumstances make the killing more serious under Utah state law. Specifically, prosecutors claim Robinson knowingly put others at great risk by firing a high-powered rifle toward a large crowd of people. Defense attorneys argue the single bullet came from above and hit its intended target, noting that the shooter did not fire another round. Defense attorneys are now asking the judge to throw out the aggravating factor, which would take the death penalty off the table at trial.
