The mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, revealed the date when residents will be able to ride the Bogotá Metro for the first time, one of the most important infrastructure projects currently under construction in the capital. During an interview with Mañanas Blu, Galán stated that the goal is for the Bogotá Metro to begin operations on March 15, 2028. “The goal is for you to ride the metro on March 15, 2028,” the mayor responded when asked when citizens will be able to use Line 1 for the first time. Galán explained that construction of the first line is already more than 80% complete and that the project has entered a critical stage due to the need to integrate the different systems that will allow it to function. The mayor compared this phase to a race in which each component initially progresses separately, but in the final stretch, everyone must arrive in a specific order.
