The African anticyclone won't let up. The heatwaves of recent months have been brief and sporadic, without impacting the weather. According to the latest models, the subtropical high pressure system over Italy will continue to keep temperatures well above seasonal averages. In short, September will be a scorching hot month. The peak is expected in the second half of the week, coinciding with next weekend. Although these projections are still being confirmed, the reliability of the trend is decidedly high: there's a real risk of peaks nearing 39°C, even in the northern regions. The only relief is that minimum temperatures, thanks to the progressive lengthening of the hours of darkness at night, will be less abnormal. With the exception of September 2nd, when a rapid storm front is expected to pass through, especially in the North, the start of September will be marked by sun and heat: summer 2026 has no intention of retreating yet.
