Pakistan Pushes Dialogue as US-Iran Conflict Escalates: FO

Pakistan remains “hopeful” despite renewed escalation between the US and Iran, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said, as Islamabad continues efforts to promote dialogue and diplomacy. Pakistan has been seeking an end to the conflict, including brokering an April ceasefire and signing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding in June. The Foreign Office said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir have held discussions with Iranian leaders as part of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts.
