Marcos calls for strict implementation of ‘no-build zone’ amid widespread flooding

Vice President Sara Duterte's lawyer Michael Poa admitted that not all paid information leads to a successful operation. Poa testified during the 21st day of the impeachment trial. In his testimony, he explained the rewards given to informants using confidential funds of the Department of Education. Poa said the Commission on Audit joint circular does not require every piece of information paid for with a reward to result in a successful operation. He said this is based on his interpretation of the joint circular. He added that success was not established yet at the time DepEd needed to submit evidence for liquidation of its confidential funds. PAGASA says the southwest monsoon will continue to affect most of Luzon and Western Visayas in the next three days up to Saturday. Pilandok will still pull the southwest monsoon over the Ilocos Region as well as Abra, Benguet, and Zambales. PAGASA says 50 to 100 millimeters of rainfall is possible, causing flooding in low-lying areas and landslide in mountainous areas. According to the weather bureau, Metro Manila can expect scattered rains and thunderstorms. For the rest of North and Central Luzon, PAGASA says there will be cloudy skies and there is a chance of rains especially later in the afternoon up to the evening. President Marcos said that while the master plan exists, the previous administration failed to execute it. Three hundred million pesos will be allocated for the construction of the partially collapsed Aquino Bridge in Tarlac City. Heavy rainfall during the weekend caused the Aquino Bridge to fall. A day after, the bridge next to it, the Agana Bridge, also partially collapsed.
