TRIBUNJAKARTA.COM - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found approximately Rp2.8 billion in cash during a search of the home of Gatot Heroe Hernanda (GHH), a suspect in an importation case at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. The money was found hidden in the ceiling of a house connected to Gatot. This discovery was announced by Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, during a press conference at the KPK's Red and White Building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday (August 26, 2026). According to Taufik, the cash consisted of Singapore dollars (SGD) and United States dollars (USD). "Yes, it was hidden in the ceiling. And that was apparently the second house," said Taufik. Taufik explained that investigators had previously searched several homes connected to Gatot and his family. During the search, cash was found in one of Gatot's homes in Malang. "At GH's own house in Malang, and also in several other areas, all connected to GH's family. That's what led to the discovery of the evidence," said Taufik. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently investigating the origin of the money and its connection to the importation case currently under investigation. The cash found is one of the pieces of evidence currently being examined by investigators in the investigation of the case involving Gatot Heroe Hernanda.
