Inside the Panzer VIII Maus

Follow and Wishlist Brass Rain on Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/36... The Panzer VIII Maus was Germany’s ultimate vision of a “land battleship” and culminated in a prototype with a combat weight of nearly 189 tons - the heaviest tank ever built. It was a monument to extreme engineering where absolute, all-around protection was prioritized above all else. But although it was impervious to all contemporary anti-tank weapons, the Maus came with a paralyzing cost: almost zero strategic mobility and an immense logistical burden. How did German engineers attempt to steer and power this 189-ton beast? Why did crossing a river require a second Maus waiting on the riverbank? And did its formidable 128mm cannon truly justify the staggering cost of a vehicle whose engine alone cost more than an entire Panther tank? Watch our new film to see how the Panzer VIII Maus was built, how its incredibly complex systems functioned, and what made it one of the most infamous, ambitious, and impractical symbols of World War II armored design.
