Alle gegen AfD? So kämpfen CDU, SPD, Linke, Grüne und BSW um jede Stimme | Doku
Can the AfD really win the election? Ahead of the Saxony-Anhalt state election: AfD, CDU, SPD, BSW, Left Party, and Greens are vying for votes. This documentary follows politicians and shows the campaign behind the scenes. 📍 Subscribe to MDR Investigativ now: / @mdrinvestigativ The marketplaces in Saxony-Anhalt are getting louder, flyers are landing in mailboxes, political campaigns are flooding social media feeds, and candidates are ringing doorbells. With the state election approaching, all of Germany is watching this campaign and wondering how voters will decide. For the first time, the AfD could win enough votes to form a state government. The man at the top: Ulrich Siegmund. Young, media-savvy, and successful on social media. His supporters already see him as the future Minister-President. But current polls are just a prediction, and the voters will decide on September 6th. Sven Schulze of the CDU wants to prevent the AfD from governing. Despite difficult polling numbers, the incumbent is fighting for every vote. The focus is on the duel between two politicians who could hardly be more different: Siegmund versus Schulze. Who will win over the people of Saxony-Anhalt? Who has the better chance of forming a government, a coalition, or even an absolute majority? But the election won't be decided solely between the AfD and the CDU. The Left Party is relying on intensive door-to-door campaigning and hopes to gain more seats. The SPD is fighting against its downward trend and descent into irrelevance. The Greens are also anxiously awaiting the results to see if they even make it into the state parliament. The BSW, formerly the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance, now the Alliance for Social Justice and Economic Reason, is trying to overcome its internal divisions and is presenting itself as a potential partner for the AfD – the BSW would play an important role in any coalition. This report follows politicians on their quest for votes. It shows how democracy functions in everyday life, which issues concern people, and how the parties are vying for support. This report also addresses questions from the opposition and the government, the debate about a possible firewall against the AfD, and the parties' strategies for the crucial days before the election. What do candidates experience during the election campaign? What role do polls, social media, and personal conversations play? And what consequences would the outcome of the state election have for Saxony-Anhalt and Germany? This election campaign report from MDR Investigativ provides exclusive insights behind the scenes of politics. 👍 Did you enjoy the film?
