DJ Sercan Ulutaş, who was traveling on the ship that capsized off Girne in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on May 16th, resulting in the deaths of 8 people and the disappearance of 20 others, recounted his experience. Sharing cell phone footage of the voyage on his social media account, Ulutaş stated that he noticed the ship was taking on water in the section where he was sitting. He said, "The captain accelerated, and a violent wave hit the ship. I jumped out of my seat. The ship started taking on water.
