The first victim of the Stockwell Strangler was found dead in her own bed with no sign of violence or a struggle, it was only an eagle eyed home help who noticed the TV had been stolen. The Stockwell Strangler had begun a 4 month murder spree which would leave 7 elderly men and women dead and struck fear into pensioners across south London. Detectives at New Scotland Yard were desperate to get this serial killer off the streets, they set up covert surveillance at old people's homes and even employed a police psychologist to try to figure out the twisted mind that would target elderly women and men.
