Doc Investigação: Ronnie Lessa detalha assassinato de Marielle Franco em entrevista exclusiva

In his first interview since his arrest, Ronnie Lessa detailed the events leading up to the assassination of councilwoman Marielle Franco and her driver, Anderson Gomes. The former police officer confessed to planning the execution for months. Alongside Élcio Queiroz, another former military police officer, Lessa allegedly followed Marielle for seven months before the crime, which occurred in March 2018. On the night of the assassination, the two followed Marielle's car for about 4 kilometers, until they pulled alongside the police vehicle at a traffic light. It was then that the shots that killed the councilwoman and her driver were fired. After the crime, Lessa and Élcio went to a bar, where they watched a football game and drank. It was through television that they learned that the deaths had been confirmed. In the interview, Lessa also admitted to working as a hitman for criminal groups and stated that he had received indirect orders from the State during his police career. The former police officer denied, however, having been hired directly by the illegal gambling operator Rogério Andrade or by other racketeers.
