MICROBIOGRAFII: George Coșbuc | EP. 7
In the last episode of the first series of Microbiographies, we talk about one of the lesser-known Romanian writers and also the first major poet that Transylvania produced: George Coșbuc. The man who can rightly be considered the successor of Eminescu and who - like him - divided his life between his birthplace and Bucharest left behind a diverse creation, but what can be observed in his poems is the very accessible rhythm, which makes them easy to remember, as well as the nerve that runs through them. If this seems a little bit to you, don't forget that the same man managed to translate several masterpieces of universal literature, such as the Odyssey, the Aeneid and the Divine Comedy. And to Coșbuc the translator or Coșbuc the poet, we can safely add the patriot, the man who dreamed and fought for the unification of Romanians, but died less than a year before its realization. We hope to arouse your interest and we are waiting for you next week with new episodes of the series La o Cafea. Enjoy! Bibliography: 1. Dictionary of Romanian Literature from Its Origins to 1900 2. George Călinescu, History of Romanian Literature from Its Origins to the Present 3. Ion Dulgheru, From the Notes of a Waiter 4. Alexandru Predescu, Old Bucharest Times 5.
