The Story a Rancher Uncovered

In the 1930s a rancher was searching these mountains for ancient gold, but he found something else instead. I backpack deep into a remote landscape of high ridges, mesas, and mountains in search of stone towers built almost a 1000 years ago. Many of these structures were documented a hundred years ago, some reportedly standing more than thirty feet tall. But do they still stand today? What the rancher discovered would eventually draw archaeologists into the region and uncover a story far more complex than anyone expected.
