Le FUTUR de l’école ou CHAOS total ? J’ai testé la classe coopérative pendant une journée !
How does a cooperative classroom work in middle school? Is the classroom atmosphere more peaceful when the students are in charge? What happens when students are given more voice, and the traditional teacher role is transformed? Discover an approach where mutual support and autonomy replace traditional competition, and where students are directly involved in classroom life! In this video, we spent a day in the cooperative classroom of Aurélie (@En_route_vers_le_savoir), a history-geography/civics teacher at the Pablo Picasso middle school in Vallauris, a priority education network (REP) school. This pedagogical model is not widely used in secondary education, but it draws inspiration from what is done in primary school: placing the student at the heart of their learning and classroom life. You'll be able to follow the students and teaching staff as they work on their end-of-year film project and witness a "Cooperative Council" meeting where the students themselves manage conflicts, set rules, and self-regulate. But does this method always work? Spoiler alert: between magical moments of solidarity and courtroom-like tensions, the reality on the ground will surprise you!
