Notting Hill Carnival 2026. What is Europe’s biggest street party actually like on the ground? I headed down to the final day of Notting Hill Carnival to capture the real atmosphere, talk to the people on the streets, and find out what really went down. Starting from Kensington Church Street just off Notting Hill Gate, our route weaves deep into the energy of Ladbroke Grove and along the iconic Portobello Road. Along the way, I caught up with revellers soaking in the music, long-time local residents, attendees who travelled across the country to be here, and officers from the Metropolitan Police (Operation Chariot). (Quick heads up on the audio: I was working with a single microphone setup for this shoot. My narration is crystal clear, but interviewee audio is a bit quieter due to the carnival roar.
