TRIBUN-TIMUR.COM - The results of two recent surveys show that West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi's electability surpasses President Prabowo Subianto in a presidential candidate simulation. The SMRC survey recorded Dedi Mulyadi's electability at 35 percent, while Prabowo's was 14.5 percent. Meanwhile, the Indonesian Political Indicator survey placed Dedi at 31.4 percent and Prabowo at 18.8 percent. SMRC Executive Director, Deni Irvani, said these results indicate a shift in public support for the two figures. In the Indikator survey, Dedi's electability increased from 16.8 percent in December to 31.4 percent in July 2026. Conversely, the SMRC survey recorded Prabowo's electability dropping from 34.9 percent to 14.5 percent. Although Prabowo's recognition rate reached 98.8 percent, his favorability rate was recorded at 68.1 percent. Meanwhile, Dedi was recognized by 88.2 percent of respondents, with a favorability rating of 88.3 percent. The survey also recorded a satisfaction rate with Prabowo's performance as president of 49.5 percent, while 48.8 percent of respondents expressed dissatisfaction. Deni stated that if the presidential election were held now, Prabowo would face a tough challenge in a head-to-head match against KDM. The two surveys used different methods, so the results cannot be directly compared. However, the SMRC and Indikator both show an upward trend in Dedi Mulyadi's electability, while support for Prabowo in the simulation showed a decline.
