Andy Burnham faced an intense reception during his first appearance in the House of Commons as Prime Minister as MPs demanded answers over welfare, small boats, defence spending, prisoner releases and Britain’s struggling economy. Kemi Badenoch launched a blistering attack on the new Prime Minister, declaring that his diagnosis and theory of economic growth were “completely wrong”.
