Rescuers race to reach 900 trapped in Nepal's hydropower TUNNELS as missing BRITS rises to 48

Nepal rescuers have launched a desperate bid to free workers trapped in the nation's hydroelectric tunnel network as officials say the number of people missing following widespread flooding has increased by nearly 2,000 - including a rise in the number of missing Brits. Officials announced on Sunday that 4,247 people are currently missing, an increase of more than 1,700 from previous estimates, 2,502, and a further at least 903 are dead. They said the huge total accounts for 3,655 Nepali citizens and 592 foreigners, among them 33 Brits whose loved ones have been able to contact them since the August 26 disaster.
