Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) lawyer Nadi Türkaslan filed a criminal complaint with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on August 7th against former Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Melih Gökçek, his family, municipal bureaucrats, businesspeople who received tenders from the municipality, and their relatives, alleging a "criminal organization." Nadi Türkaslan made a statement to journalists in front of the Sıhhiye Courthouse regarding the process. Türkaslan said, "Our aim is not to pursue where and for what purpose anyone made investments. That doesn't concern us. Our aim is to uncover how those who, even yesterday, were said to have no registered assets, obtained these investments illegally using municipal resources."
