Volkswagen plans to cut another 25,000 jobs in Germany, with a total of 50,000 job losses across the group. Germany, as a production location, is therefore being hit particularly hard. "From today's perspective, about half of the necessary adjustments are in Germany, the other half internationally – across a total of around 170 companies," said VW CEO Oliver Blume to approximately 10,000 employees at the main plant. "However, the works council sees far more jobs at risk and fears the elimination of a total of 115,000 jobs at Volkswagen," reports "Automobilwoche."
