How I Survived 9/11 | LADbible Stories

In this episode of Minutes With, we had the privilege of speaking to Joe Dittmar about his experience of surviving the horrific 9/11 terrorist attack. On September 11th 2001, two commercial planes were deliberately crashed into the north and south towers of New York City's World Trade Centre, also known as the Twin Towers. The event killed nearly 3,000 people and injured many more, indiscriminately claiming the lives of the plane's passengers, civilians, firefighters and emergency service workers. On that morning, Joe was called to a meeting on the 105th floor of the south tower. Of the 54 people who attended that meeting, Joe is one of seven who survived. In this video, Joe describes the horrendous experience of escaping the burning tower, his final moments with the many friends he lost that day and how he made his way back home. Joe wishes to share the following information with our audience: The Chatham County, North Carolina First Responders 9/11 Memorial is located in Pittsboro, NC, and features a 19-foot-long, 12,000-pound steel beam salvaged from a World Trade Center building, erected to stand on end and tilted 9 degrees, 11 minutes toward Ground Zero. The memorial was dedicated in 2014 and serves as a centerpiece for honoring the heroes of 9/11 and providing a permanent tribute to the victims of the attacks.
