On October 15th 1993, a night at the movies at the Fulton Street Mall in Brooklyn, New York turned into chaos and tragedy all in a matter of minutes. As the motion picture Judgment Night premiered to an audience, an argument between two young men quickly escalated, leading to a physical confrontation, followed by the deafening sounds of weapons blasting as innocent men, women, and children ducked for cover. 18 year old Lakeem Surles of Crown Heights, Brooklyn would lose his life that night, with some believing the altercation stemmed from a dispute from his past.
