Karen's front yard is a real-world example of a no-grass, low-water landscape — five years in, holding up well, and still evolving. Located in Portland, Oregon (Zone 8b/9a), this garden runs on drought-tolerant plants instead of turf, and it looks better for it. In this tour, Karen walks us through what's thriving, edits she's made, and an (although beautiful) groundcover that needs regular intervention to keep in check. We also look at the grasses, silver foliage, and evergreen structure doing the work of carrying this garden through every season without relying on a lawn.
