Valter Lavitola: "Dirò tutto sui segreti di Berlusconi”

Valter Lavitola, former director of Avanti, is accused in Naples with the Roman entrepreneur Angelo Capriotti and the owner of another company, Paolo Passalacqua (from Recco, Genoa) in a trial for international corruption for the construction of four “modular prisons” in Panama. Lavitola has already been definitively convicted for attempted extortion against Silvio Berlusconi and for the affair of state funding improperly received by Avanti. Guido Ruotolo intercepts him in the corridors of the courthouse and manages to steal the interview using a hidden microphone, filming the scene with a telephone: Lavitola seems to have decided to use the trial to speak and reveal the secret behind an apparently banal story of corruption and lets it be understood that he knows many other secrets concerning the former prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi. What does Lavitola intend to talk about? On the “affaire” Gianfranco Fini artfully constructed when the then President of the Chamber was at loggerheads with the leader of the People of Freedom, Silvio Berlusconi. Valter Lavitola found documents to demonstrate that a house in Monte Carlo, a legacy of a donation to the National Alliance and therefore to Fini’s party, had ended up with the brother-in-law of the President of the Chamber, Giancarlo Tulliani (now a fugitive in Dubai for money laundering). It was Lavitola, in Santa Lucia, a Caribbean island tax haven, who obtained confirmation from the Minister of Justice that Tulliani was behind a company involved in the sale of the house in Monte Carlo. What could be hidden behind the trial for international corruption (the four prisons to be built in Panama)? A triangulation through state companies to reward those who had provided the documents to get Fini into trouble. Therefore, the former director of Avanti, by filing a substantial list of witnesses at the trial for international corruption, wants to transform a banal story of bribes into an international affair. In a note supplementing the list of witnesses, the defendant who calls Silvio Berlusconi, Franco Frattini, Gianni Letta, among others, to testify, reveals: «The construction of prisons with containers instead of traditional cells, was included in a memorandum for international cooperation, in matters of security, aimed at fighting drug trafficking and terrorism and protecting the Panama Canal, an infrastructure of enormous strategic interest in the civil and military sector at a global level». What does a small prison made of prefabricated buildings have to do with international terrorism? Lavitola implies that the United States was involved in this affair, if only because one of their companies had to give up the work to double the Panama Canal, being the legitimate winner of the tender, in favor of Italian companies.
