Supreme Court PANICS as Gifts get EXPOSED!!!

Gabe explains why gift disclosure matters: federal law requires justices to report any gift worth more than $525, and the only enforcement mechanism, a never-used provision allowing the attorney general to sue for civil penalties up to $50,000 per violation, has never once been applied to a judge or justice. Gabe walks through how Thomas exploits the "personal hospitality" exemption — which only covers food, lodging, and entertainment paid for directly by an individual, not an LLC — to avoid reporting trips on donor jets and stays at properties like Harlan Crow's Topridge estate and the all-male Bohemian Grove retreat, and reveals that Fix the Court has filed a still-pending FOIA request just to learn the value of a trophy Chief Justice Roberts received from the U.S. Military Academy. Gabe contrasts Thomas with justices like Stephen Breyer and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who at least listed comparable gifts, even if in the wrong disclosure category, and flags one exception worth watching: Justice Sotomayor's likely $4,333 in free Bad Bunny concert tickets from the artist's record label. Gabe's bottom line: the Supreme Court has weaker gift rules than Congress or the executive branch, and until the justices adopt an enforceable gift ban themselves, it falls to Congress to pass one for them.
