I Built My Bed Using 200-Year-Old Methods
In this video, I share the process of building a traditional solid oak bed by hand, using reclaimed oak beams that are over 200 years old. To be honest, it was an unforgettable feeling to sleep for the first time in a bed I had built with my own hands, inside my wooden log cabin. After more than two years of building, I was finally able to spend my first night there, and I can truly say that every moment of those two years was worth it. This month was filled with creativity, long days in nature, and many hours of work inside the cabin. At times, the temperature climbed above 45°C (113°F), making every day a real challenge. Working in that kind of heat was far from easy, but seeing the project come together made every effort worthwhile. Now that the bed is finally complete, I can move on to the next stage of building my home. Watching the interior slowly take shape is one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. Building this bed was one of the most demanding projects I’ve taken on so far. Cutting traditional mortise-and-tenon joints by hand into 200-year-old oak was incredibly difficult, but I’m proud that I was able to bring my vision to life. A new video will be coming very soon, so until next time… Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all your support. It is your encouragement that keeps me motivated to continue building and sharing this journey.
