A Journey from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta (Vietnam)

Ho Chi Minh City is home to 10 million people, making it the largest city in Vietnam, though it's not the capital. Once known as Saigon, this fascinating city is best explored over several days. In this travel guide we'll experience the very best of HCMC, including where to eat, top attractions, and hidden gems. Highlights of our trip will include the Central Post Office, Independence Palace, the Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, and the biggest market. One of the most popular day trips from Ho Chi Minh City is to the Mekong Delta, but because this area of southern Vietnam is so far away from the city, the best way to explore it is as an overnight trip. And so we'll also spend some time in the Mekong Delta, where we'll visit the famous Cai Rang Floating Market, see rice noodle production, and explore the canals of the Mekong, among other things.
