This change also impacts access to education. Several families worry that their children will no longer receive assistance or scholarships due to the changed welfare decile status. One such experience is experienced by Siti Khodijah, a traveling fried food vendor in the Solo City Hall area. She has been receiving government assistance in the form of basic necessities, elderly assistance, and cash. However, this assistance is at risk of being lost after her welfare decile status changed. A similar situation is experienced by Mbah Welas, who was previously listed in decile 3 but is now in decile 10. This change has the potential to cut off her family's access to several social assistance programs, including scholarships for her children's education. In response to residents' complaints, the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the local government are updating the data. The Head of the Kulon Progo Social Services, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection Agency stated that, based on the latest information from the Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Timbul's status has entered the decile 1 to 5 category.
