A post-mortem ruled she died from cold water immersion. Shepherd was unharmed. What first appeared to be a tragic accident soon became the focus of a complex police investigation. As evidence mounted, Shepherd’s account of the crash began to unravel, ultimately leading to a charge of manslaughter.
