TRIBUNJAKARTA.COM - Tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated again after Iran launched a retaliatory missile and drone attack on a US military base in Jordan. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed the attack, carried out on Monday (September 1, 2026), killed a large number of US troops at the Titin base in Jordan. However, two US officials immediately denied this claim. They stated that there were no reports of casualties as a result of the Iranian attack. The Jordanian military also stated that it successfully intercepted 10 of the 13 missiles fired by Iran. The other three projectiles reportedly landed in a remote area. The Iranian attack was carried out in response to US military strikes on several targets in Iran. At least four people were reportedly killed in the attack, including children. In addition, at least 50 other Iranians were injured. The United States reportedly struck a house in the city of Kuhestak that was being used for a wedding reception. This series of retaliatory attacks further escalated tensions between Tehran and Washington, with each side offering differing claims regarding the impact of the attacks and the number of casualties.
