We Tested Eggs From Walmart, Costco, Aldi & 8 Stores | #3 Shocked Us
There is a four digit code stamped on the side of your egg carton. Last year it showed up on nine different brand names, at nine different prices, in nine different grocery stores. It was all one building. We pulled cartons from eleven stores and ignored every word on the front, because the front of an egg carton is advertising. We read the side, where the rules are, and we ran four checks on all of them: the federal grade shield, a named third party audit, whether you can trace the egg back to a real farm, and the pack date. Three stores passed. Eight did not. The store you would bet on is not one of the three, and the cheapest store on the list is.
