"It's upsetting that they are Black and Moorish people," she said, referring to the immigrants who have flooded the streets of Ceuta, creating an extreme crisis in the Spanish city. In a press conference at the Congress of Deputies, Belarra stated that she believes the demonstrations called for Wednesday by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) in support of the people of Ceuta smack of racism. Furthermore, she referred to "a few thousand people" as a reference to the 80,000 who entered irregularly through the Ceuta border on July 30 and 31, and criticized them for "bothering" the Spanish right wing. "When 350,000 Ukrainians came and the Venezuelans didn't say a word," added the Secretary General of Podemos, further emphasizing that "what you're really saying" with this call to action "isn't that you're worried about many people coming to our country; what worries you, and what you're demonstrating, is that you're racist against Black and Muslim people."
